Biographie

Emmanuel joined the ECF in 2017, as the Executive Director for International Affairs, in charge of setting up and managing ECF activities outside of Europe (International Climate Politics Hub, 2050 Pathway Platform, Trade for Climate, European Green Deal Diplomacy, Programme on International Energy, etc.).

Before joining the ECF, Emmanuel worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the cabinet of the Minister and COP21 President, Laurent Fabius, and as Special Advisor to the Ambassador for Climate Negotiations and now ECF CEO, Laurence Tubiana. As such, he is one of the architects of the Paris Agreement and personally led its drafting team. He is also at the origin of what later became Mission Innovation and the Breakthrough Energy Coalition.

Before that, Emmanuel was the Associate Director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), and the Director of the Energy and Climate programme at the French Institute of Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI).

Throughout the years, Emmanuel has also been teaching and researching at Sciences Po Paris, where he graduated from; the Grantham Research Institute of the London School of Economics; and the Earth Institute of Columbia University.
